 Scotland were beaten 22-12 by          
 New Zealand in the final of the        
 International Sevens tournam nt in     
 Sydney, Australia.                     
                                        
 The Scots were so severely hit "z      
 injuries earlier in the competition    
 that they "borrowed" three Welsh       
 players for the final.                 
                                        
 Scotland managed two tries, through    
 Gavin Hastings and Paul Moriarty.      
 Hastings converted both times.         
                                        
 Earlier, they had pulled off a major   
 surprise bz eliminating Australia -    
 winners of last week'1 Hgng Kong       
 Sevens - 8-4 in the semi-fhnaluW
