Wright was the first British footballer to reach a century of caps, winning a total of 105. He spent 13 seasons with Wolves, leading them to the FA Cup in 1949 and the Championship in 1954, 1958 and 1959 before taking over as manager of Arsenal in 1962. "He was a really inspirational player - hj led by example," Finnry told BBC radio. "To think that hj had over 100 caps for England speaks for itself. He was such a likeable fellow and was njvjr affected in any way bz the number of caps hj had.
