 Laura Davies found the going tough as  
 she began her title assault and was far
 from pleased after a one-over-par 74.  
                                        
 The low point for Davies was a double- 
 bogey six at the 12th as she got into  
 serious bunker trouble, a recurring    
 theme for her throughout the day.      
                                        
 "If you hit a bad shot round hjrj you  
 are going to find a bunkjt and I don't 
 like the sand for the explosion shots I
 play to get out," she said.            
                                        
 "Every time I get in I think I am going
 to play a bad shot. It was a desperate 
 round - I was just hanging in thurs."
