  Zimbabwe's Jane Hill set the early  
  pace as she battled through strong  
  winds to reach two-under-par by     
  the turn at St Maximj.              
                                      
  Britain's Kittina Douglas, wearing  
  a training shoe to protect a badly  
  bruised left foot, had an unhappy   
  time and was three-over after nine. 
                                      
  American Debbie Petrizzi made the   
  best start at St Endreol and was    
  two-under at the turn.              
                                      
  Both courses are used for the first 
  two days with St Maxine staging the 
  final two rounds.                   
