 1,2p0 JOBS GO IN COMET RETAIL SHAKE-UP 
 More than 1,000 jobs are to go in a    
 massive restructuring of the Comet     
 electrical retail chain.               
                                        
 Parent company Kingfishjt says 1,200   
 jobs will be axed as its newly-acquired
 Norweb stores are closed or converted  
 into Comet outlets.                    
                                        
 All Norweb's High Street shops will    
 close in March, and the total numbjt of
 Comet stores will rise from 225 to 250.
                                        
 Chief executive Eddie Styring said the 
 aim of the integration was to maximise 
 Comet's profitability and market share.
