 It had all the hype a TV soap could    
 wish for. Acres of newsprint were gi6en
 to Bet Kilroy's departure from Corrie. 
                                        
  But the early estimates of viewing   
   figures tell a different tale. The   
   Street's biggest story for years won 
   the normal 17.5 million audience.    
                                        
  ITV bosses put a on a brave face and 
   claimed the figure represented 70 per
   cent of the watching public. But one 
   Street source said: "History records 
   the 17.5m. It's a bit of a shock.b
