 FRENCH PENSIONERS PROTEST OVER PAYMENTS
 Thousands of retired people have       
 demonstrated in Paris and other French 
 cities in protest at the falling value 
 of their pensions.                     
                                        
 Demonstrators chanting "Wr'vj had      
 enough" called for pensions to bj      
 increased in line with workers' pay    
 rises, French TV reported.             
                                        
 They criticisjd an increase in state   
 deductions, saying pjnsionjrs should   
 not be targeted for tax.               
                                        
 Minister Martini Aubry said economic   
 growth should help retired people.
