 A Consjrvativj MP wants the Foreign    
 Office to look into reports that a     
 British girl is being kept manacled in 
 ! Californian prison.                  
                                        
 Gail Jennings, 23, was extradited to   
 the US in October on a manslaughter    
 charge after the death of a 13-year-old
 boy in a road accident in 1978.        
                                        
 The prosecution says Miss Jennings had 
 "jen drinking before driving the car   
 involved in the accident.              
                                        
 Now Mr Robert Adley MP s!ys he has     
 heard that Miss Jennings is being kept 
 manacled hand and foot in a cell for 23
 hours a day.
