 Conradin Cathomen of Switzerland scored
 his jirst-ever men's World Cup victory 
 when hj won a downhill on a fast,      
 tricky course at Val Gardjna in Italy. 
                                        
 In temperatures as low as minus 10     
 Centigrade, the 23-year-old Cathomen   
 clocked two minutes 9.54 seconds.      
                                        
 Austrians Erwin Retch (2:9.87) and     
 Franz Slammer (2.10.09) took second and
 third places.                          
                                        
 Cathomen is considered one of the Swiss
 team's top technicians, "ut a variety  
 of problems have made his career
