 HOFMEISTJR WORLD DOUBLES CHAMPIONSHIP  
 
 Steve Davis and Tony Meg dominated the 
 afternoon and evening sessions of their
 25-frames final against the Welsh pair 
 Terry Griffiths and Doug Mountjoy. They
 have a commanding 10-2 lead.           
                                        
 After Meg's breaks of 36 and 42 had    
 earned the Londoners the jirst frame,  
 Davis contributed breaks of 35, 46 and 
 60 to extend his side's lead to 4-0.   
                                        
 Griffiths and Mounjoy were allowed a   
 little respite early in the evening,   
 but the Londoners fought "act to their 
 almost unassailable position.
