 Hopes of rescuing two Japanese clem"irs
 lost on Mount Everest have jaded.      
                                        
 Yasuo Karo, 33, on Mond!y "ecame the   
 first man to climb Everest in the      
 winter season.                         
                                        
 But hj has been missing since then     
 with Toshiaki Gob!yashi, who failed to 
 reach the 29,028-foot summit "ecause of
 frostbite.                             
                                        
  A 67-year-old Englishwoman is missing
 in the Himalayas. Mrs Anne Hope, jrom  
 Paignton, Devon, was last seen during a
 walking holed!y in Nepal on December 3.
