  ECONOMIC FORECASTS FOR 1983 
                                        
 The DRJ Control Forecast group has     
 predicted a 4.6pc fall in the value of 
 the pound in 1983.                     
                                        
 Exports could rise "y 1.6pc next year, 
 while imports of manufactured goods are
 expected to rise "y 7pc, "ut weakness  
 in other categories and services could 
 reduce this to 3.6pc.                  
                                        
 DRJ see inflation "elow 6pc early in   
 1983, but expect it to rise above 7pc  
 in the !utumn. The group predicts that 
 unemployment will average 3.4m, while  
 manufacturing output is set to rise "y
