  OPEC PRICES UNDER PRESSURE 
                                        
 Oil industry sources s!y Saudi Ara"ia  
 and its Gulf allies in OPEC are facing 
 increasing pressure jrom Oman to cut   
 their oil prices.                      
                                        
 The Gulf states have made most efforts 
 to defend the OPEC reference price of  
 $34 a barrel during the world oil glut 
 and have seen their sales jall as      
 other producers gave discounts.        
                                        
 The last OPEC meeting failed to come up
 with an output sharing agreement and   
 oil analysts believe a rumoured meeting
 of Gulf oil ministers next month could 
 centre on pricing strategy.
