 sports writers in the poll conducted   
 "y the sports magazine France-Football.
                                        
 Runner-up was the French midfield      
 plazjr Alan Giresse, with Poland's     
 Zbigniew Bonier third.                 
                                        
 Rouse made a triumphant return after a 
 long suspension to "e top scorer in    
 Sp!in and win a World Cup winnjrsW     
 medal.
