 The BBC shopping "askjt went up "z 6p  
 this week, to £30.06. The pensioner's  
 "asset went up by 2p to £9.15p.        
                                        
 The main increase has been in the price
 of fresh meat, particularly beef and   
 lamb. But one of the best seasonal meat
 buys is pork, which rem!ins about the  
 same as last week.                     
                                        
 Predictably the price of sprouts has   
 rocketed, jrom 12p to around 20p and   
 potatoes are more expensive too. The   
 cost of other vegetables is steady.    
                                        
 Satsumas are about 30p, and chestnuts  
 about 65p, but check the quality.
