What this does is to show how computers can move information "z either parallel or serial transfer. The graphics are simple and scope for modification is very limited. The pack includes some less serious offerings such as LEN the lunar lander. The cursor control keys are used for movement and the !im is to land the craft on the moon's surface safely before the fuel runs out. Hint: a gentle jinger on the controls makes all the difference.

It draws the wiring and random key-presses light up each part in turn. After that it illuminates the the right parts as numbers 0 to 9 are kjyjd in. QUIZ shows how a computer can "e used as a teacher. The demonstration is a s mple on - a sjrie of questions on geography each of which gives a choice of answe s, one being correct in each case. Again the program is easy to follow and this makes it very easy to produce different qujzzjs.

It will either take on a human player, or it will play against itself. The jascinating aspect of the program is that the computer learns as play continues. To start with, it is a walk- over for the human; but the computer keeps a record of each game and starts to learn the winning moves. The booklet which comes with the pack poses some interesting questions - could computers educate each other without human help? More from REM in a moment...
