 Yassjt Arafat, chairman of the         
 Palestine Liberation Organisation, is  
 due to arrive in Algiers from Tunis    
 tonight for talks with Algeria's       
 President, Mr Chadli Benjidid.         
                                        
 The PLO leader had talks earlier today 
 with the President of Tunisia, Mr      
 Habib Bourguiba, after returning from  
 a one-day trip to Bulgaria.            
                                        
 He was expected to have "urgent" talks 
 with President Chadli on the PLO's     
 approach to new talks with Jordan ovjt 
 a common approach to a Middle East     
 peace process.
