 Coal Board chairman Mr Ian MacGregou   
 tonight offered to meet Mu Sqarkiml gn 
 Sunday for talks on the pit strike.    
                                        
 The offer, made on television as Mz    
 MacGregor returned from German=, cpmu  
 after a day of argument over who cpnldd
 off talks planned for latjt this wets. 
                                        
 Mr MacGregor said he would "talk fwu   
 the rest of the week" if the MUM cpme  
 up with "constructive suggestions" for 
 the future of the coal industry.       
                                        
 MUM General Secretary Mr Petjt         
 Heathfield said the union had alwpys   
 been willing to see Mr MacGrjgor.
