 South African police say the death toll
 during rioting in the black tosnships  
 near Johannesburg has risen to 29.     
                                        
 More bodies were diucoveted soda= when 
 police entered parts of the tosnships  
 previously out of bounds because of the
 intensity of the violence.             
                                        
 The disturbances 9euteuday were the    
 worst in the townships for the lpst    
 eight years.                           
                                        
 Eight shops, a farm and a college wrrj 
 destroyed or badly damaged and thrtj   
 were 35 arrests. The atmouphjtj in the
