 SDP Vice President Mr William Rodgers  
 has told the Liberal party Assembly in 
 Bournemouth that there can be no       
 senior partner in the Alliance.        
                                        
 Mr Rodgers got a mixed reception when  
 hj added that hj hoped the Liberals and
 the SDP could each lead for the        
 Alliance at the next election in the   
 seats where they led in 1983.          
                                        
  The outgoing Liberal chairman Mr Pa4l
 Tzlit had earlier emphasiujd that the  
 Liberals and the SDP must move towards 
 a closer partnership, though a mjrgju
