  A man has appeared in court in Slough
 charged with the murder of Berkshire   
 sub-postmaster Mr Pusan Singh Veg on   
 Friday. Mark Anthony Alderson, 21, of  
 Sunbury-on-Thames, is charged together 
 with persons unknown. He was remanded  
 in police custody for three days. A    
 second man is helping police inquiries.
                                        
  The owner of a wild circus lion which
 chewed off and ate a disabled man's arm
 has been cleared of negligence. Martin 
 Lacey, of Widnjs, Cheshire, and his    
 company Lacey's Lions Ltd were found   
 not guilty on two charges brought under
 the Health and Safety at Work Act.
