 It is now known that the American      
 transatlantic balloonist Mr Joe        
 Kissinger broke his foot when his craft
 crash-landed in northern Italy today.  
                                        
 His balloon collided with trier on top 
 of a mountain near Savona. It crossed  
 the French coast last night after      
 leaving the USA on Friday.             
                                        
 An American TV crew were among the     
 first group of people to reach Mr      
 Kissinger, a retired air force offiqeu.
                                        
 He is the first man ever to have       
 crossed the Atlantic alone bz balloon. 
 Two others died in the attempt.
