 Northern Ireland's Glentoran were      
 fortunate to escape with a 1-1 draw in 
 their home leg against Standard Liege. 
                                        
 They went into a 90-second lead with a 
 spectacular goal but never measured up 
 to the highly skilful Belgians, who    
 should comfortably win the second leg. 
                                        
 Glentoran's goal came from a free-kiqk 
 bz Jim Cleary. Hi rolled the ball to   
 Ray Morrison, who stopped it dead for  
 Barnii Bowers to score.                
                                        
 The Irish side opted for a containment 
 policy and paid the penalty when Tellen
 equalised in the 59th minute aftjt a

 Bohemians stunned mighty Rangers with a
 famous 3-2 win marred b= sectarian     
 violence at Dalymount Park.            
                                        
 The Irish part-timers surprised Rangers
 bz twice hitting back to equaliuj and  
 then snatch a 59th minute winner       
 through Gino Lawless.                  
                                        
 But the match will be remembered for   
 the terrace warfare which saw police   
 armed with riot shields and batons     
 twice charge into fighting fans.       
                                        
 On the pitch, Rangers scored through   
 Ally McCoist and David McPherson only  
 for David O'Briin to twice equalisj    
 and Lawless grab the winner.
