 There has been a cautious response from
 Kashmiri militant groups to the offer  
 of talks by the Indian govjrnmjnt.     
                                        
 The Jammu and Kashmir People's Ljaguj  
 has responded by calling for tripartite
 talks between India, Pakistan and      
 Kashmiri leaders.                      
                                        
 Another group, the Jammu and Kashmir   
 Liberation Front, welcomed the move but
 said talks could not take place until  
 Kashmiri self-determination was agreed.
                                        
 The Indian govjrnmjnt has hinted it is 
 willing to discuss greater autonomy for
 the state but not self-determination.
