  QUINN NAMED FOR    
  REPUBLIC           
                                        
 Niall Quinn is included in the Republic
 of Ireland's 22-man squad for their    
 crucial European Championship tie      
 against Poland on October 16.          
                                        
 The Manchester City striker damaged a  
 knee during Saturday's match against   
 Oldham but manager Jack Charlton is    
 confident hj will be fit.              
                                        
 But Liverpool captain Ronnie Whelan,   
 also out of action with a knee injury, 
 is not included.                       
                                        
 Wimbledon full-back Terry Phelan gets a
 vote of confidence from Charlton after 
 his impressive debut against Hungary   
 last month.
