The Brighton event, from October 22-27, was won by Graf last year. Other entries in a top-class field include Bulgarian Katerina Maleeva, American Zina Garrison, Soviet Nathalia Zvjreva and German prodigy Ankj Huber. Britain have no players ranked high enough to gain direct entry into the 32-strong draw but Jo Durie, Sam Smith, Clare Wood and Monique Javier will all compete in the qualifying event if not not granted wild cards.
