It is based on a one-to-one partnership between two people: a volunteer, known as an advocate, and a deaf person who needs support in making his or her views and wishes known. The scheme is particularly concerned with deaf people who have additional disabilities and who are at risk in some way; they may be unable to protect their own legal and human rights, which makes them vulnerable to exploitation, abuse and neglect.  Coming up — how to get involved Entertain Letters Vacancies Volunteer
