Comas, running a bit wide in his Ligier to avoid a car parked on the grass at Stowe, collided with the Williams of Riccardo Patresj and both spun off. The two cars were badly damaged as they crashed heavily into the barriers. Comas spun back on to the track with debris and wheels flying around him.
