 The World Association for Christian    
 Communication, at a meeting in Ecuador,
 says that "the colonial invasion of    
 Latin America still continues today but
 under different guises."               
                                        
 It cites the influence of television   
 programmer from the US on foreign      
 cultures, dominance of Western news    
 values, the strict regimrs of thu Woyld
 Bank and the IMF.                      
                                        
 The group calls on churches to continue
 to make communication for human dignity
