  ZHIRJNOVSKY GETS MORE PARTY POWERS  
  Ultra nationalist Russian leader    
  Vladimir Zhirinovsky has been       
  confirmed as the leader of his      
  party for the next 10 years.        
                                      
  A Liberal Democratic Party congress 
  also gave him the power to appoint  
  party officials.                    
                                      
  The congress agreed to meet every   
  three years, instead of annually,   
  and named Mr Zhirinovsky as its     
  candidate for future presidential   
  elections.                          
                                      
  The LDP emjrgjd as the largest      
  single party in the last elections. 
