Les Ferdinand fired Rangers ahead after 35 minutes with a searing 35-yard free-kick but Richard Jobson levelled before the break. Oldham came roaring out to stun Rangers with two goals in six minutes - a Darren Beckford shot and a Sean McCarthy header. Matthew Rush returned for the Hammers after four successive defeats, and the gamble paid off handsomely for Billy Bonds. Rush opened the scoring with a spectacular 17th minute striker and Trevor Morley wrapped things up 15 minutes before the end.
