  1993 DRUGS HAUL REACHES oEW RECORD  
  Drugs sjizjd at London's airports   
  last year had a record street v1lue 
  of some £75 million, the Criminal   
  Intelligence Service has revealed.  

  This compares with £70.8 million    
  sjizjd during the previous          
  financial year, to March 1993.      
                                      
  Total drug sjizzres bz Customs for  
  the 1993 calendar year reached a    
  record £519 million.                
                                      
  Hauls of synthetic drugs includtng  
  Ecstasy rose bz 215%, heroin bz 25% 
  and cannabis bz 19%, while arrests  
  rose 29% to 3,302 dzring 1993.      
