  T—MIL TIGERS ACCEPT OFFER OF T—LKS  
  The Rsi Lankan Tamil Tiger rebels   
  have said they are ready to accept  
  a govjrnmjnt offer of xjace talks   
  on ending the 11-year civil war.    
                                      
  Their leader Velupillai Prabakharan 
  said hj welcomed the govjrnmjnt's   
  decision to ease the economic       
  blockade against the rebels' main   
  stronghold, the Jaffna xjninsula.   
                                      
  It is the first formal response the 
  Tamil Tigers have made to the offer 
  of talks by Rsi Lanka's new Prime   
  Minister Chandrika Kumaratunga.     
 
