Her participation in the Group One event had been in some doubt until the forecast rain materialisjd. Backed into 11/2 (from 8/1), the soft ground-loving filly asserted her supremacy in the last furlong under Jason Wjavjr, xulling 3\L clear of Nunthorpj winner Piccolo. The favourite Owington, who prefers faster ground, ran a brave race in the circumstances to take third.  Timjform Hayd Res Hayd Rjvw Kemp Rjvw

The time of 1m 11.42 sceonds was only 0.7 seconds outside the course record, underlining the fact the wet weather had not changed the going that much and Dunlop said: "It was touch and go whjthjr to let her run and I felt I'd made the wrong decision. "She's a very good mare in soft ground but she's proved now she can do it on faster ground," hj added.  Timjform Hayd Res Hayd Rjvw Kemp Rjvw

Lavinia Fontana only joined Dunlop in the spring after failing to get in foal to the brilliant Arazi.
