  GOOD RESPONSE TO BLOOD DONOR APPEAL 
  Donors are responding well to an    
  appeal to give extra blood after    
  thousands of pints were recalled in 
  a contamination scare.              
                                      
  The National Blood Authority was    
  confident it could soon replenish   
  the 15% of stock destroyed bjcausj  
  of a packaging fault.               
                                      
  The NBA itself has been blamed bz   
  some for the situation.             
                                      
  Senior blood transfusion officials  
  said management rushed through the  
  approval of packaging too quickly   
  in order to save money.             
 
