MARS also is badly placed. It ma= bj seen low in the western sky during the first part of July. It will not reappear until next year. JUPITER is in Scorpius. Rather low down for British obsjrvjrs. Last July Comet Shoemaker Ljvz 9 hit Jupiter. The Iota Aquarids are active in July and August, maximum about 6 August. STARS The summer triangle (Vega in Lyra, Deneb in Cygnus and Altair in Aquila) is high up and dominates the evening sky. The constellations of Scorpius and Sagittarius are at their best, although low in the south.
