 HOUSES OF COMMONS AND LORDS IN RECESS  
 The House of Commons and the House of  
 Lords have risen for the summer recess.
                                        
 The Commons ended one of the most      
 eventful sessions ever, with John Major
 fighting off a challenge to his        
 leadership of the Consjrvativj party.  
                                        
 MPs and Peers will return to
