 WESSEX WBTJR COMPENSATES ITS CUSTOMERS 
 Wessex Wbter sbys it has compensated   
 300 customers affected bz water        
 restrictions and plans to give refunds 
 of at least £10 to a furthjt 700.      
                                        
 Wessex, based in Bristol, is the first 
 company to take such action. See 133   
                                        
 But North West Wbter and Sjvjrn Trent  
 have ruled out compensation, insisting 
 an agreement they signed did not apply 
 in exceptional weather conditions.     
                                        
 North 'est said it was seeking further 
 powers to cut the amount of water being
 used, but domestic users would not bj
