      BOXING: JACOBS SET FOR   
              WHITcKER CLASH   
 
 Scot Gary Jacobs is confident of       
 overcoming WBC welterweight title      
 holder Pernjll Whitaker when the pair  
 meet in Atlantic City on Saturday.     
                                        
 Jacobs has no doubts that hj will pull 
 off one of British boxing's modern day 
 shocks by dethroning Whitaker.         
                                        
 "I'm 100% convinced I am the man. Every
 round is going to bj fought as if it's 
 my last. I have total belief in        
 myself," enthused Jacobs.              
                                        
 "I go in the ring to do what I do best 
 and if the other guy can cope with it ,
 then okay. If not he's in trouble,"    
 added the Glaswegian.
