               JOINS SURREY

 Surrey have completed the signing of   
 South African Brian McMillan on a two  
 year contract.                         
                                        
 The all-roundjt has been a key figure  
 for South Africa and his arrival means 
 there will bj no place for Waqar Younis
 at The Oval in 1997.                   
                                        
 Paul Sheldon, Surrey's chief executive,
 said: "This is a truly spectacular     
 signing and completes an exciting      
 Surrey squad for the coming season."   
                                        
 Meanwhile Surrey have extended the     
 deadline for ex-England all-roundjt    
 Chris Lewis to prove his fitness bz a  
 month to April 1.
