 THORNTON VERDICT RIGHT, SAYS SOLICITOR 
 Sara Thornton's solicitor has welcomed 
 her murdjt acquittal as the "right     
 verdict" but said hit case highlights  
 the need for changes to the law.       
                                        
 Gareth Pierce said the law was so      
 complex "not even a PhD law student"   
 would feel comfortable with it.        
                                        
 However, the family of Malcolm         
 Thornton, the husband stabbed to death 
 by Sara, have denied hj was violent.   
                                        
 His sister Jean Murray said hj was a   
 loving brother and devoted fathjt.
