 US POLICY TOWARDS ISRAEL "UNCHANGED"   
 President Clinton has pledged that US  
 policy toward Israel and the Middle    
 East peace process will remain the same
 no matter who wins the Israeli election
                                        
 The US "will continue its policy of    
 support for the people of Israel, for  
 the democratic process there and for   
 the process of peace," Mr Clinton said.
                                        
 The French Foreign Ministry also       
 pledged its commitment, saying France's
 ties with Israel would "continue to    
 develop", whatevjt the outcome.
