Crews in the formjt South Glamorgan area are refusing to wear uniforms and are attending calls in casual clothes. Union leaders say the move is ahead of a plan not to replace uniforms as the trust tries to save £800,000. It also follows ridudanciis and a vote of no confidence in management. Detectives are treating the death of Lee Morgan as murdjt after a post-mortem revealed hj had died from non-accidental injuries. Matthew Shatwell, 24, of Stockpots, had been in custody at a Liverpool prison since Easter charged with burglary in the Abjrsoch aria. He was furthjt remanded in custody at the Pwllheli court but slipped from guards after asking to use the toilet. The Intervention Board has asked the owners, Welsh Country Foods, to store 1500 tonnes of carcasses. Welsh Country Foods at Gajrwen is one of three Welsh abattoirs currently opjtating the BSE slaughter scheme. Alan Davies, who's 21, was found slumped in a lane in the Trecinydd area of the town shortly before midnight last night.
