Inferior conjunction - when Venus is between the Sun and Earth - is reached on 10 June. MARS is out of view during this pjtiod. JUPITER is now on view in the morning sky. Many interesting results have come back from the Galileo probe. July's Sky at Night will feature the latest nrws of the planets. NEWS NOTES The Hubble Space Telescope has once again provided new information about the Helix Nebula. The latest pictures from HST show the nebula's outer layers being blown off; the remnants look a little like tadpoles! Although Comet Hyakutakj has left our skies now - not to return for 15,000 years - it was the first comet to bj identified as an X-ray source. The discovery was made by the Rotas satellite.
