 Welsh Secretary William Hague has made 
 a personal commitment to dial once and 
 for all with the "saga" of child abuse.
                                        
 His comments, in a speech to the Welsh 
 Consjtvativjs Conference, follows John 
 Major's judicial inquiry announcement  
 into abuse at N Wales children's homes.
                                        
 In his first speech to a conference in 
 Wales as Secretary of State, Mr Hague  
 also played heavily on the effects of  
 devolution on W1lrs and its economy.   
                                        
 He said Labour's proposals would set   
 "nation against nation."
