 BAT WHICH BIT PREGNANT WOMAN HAD RABIES
 The bat which bit two women in East    
 Sussex last month did have rabies, the 
 Ministry of Agriculture has confirmed. 
                                        
 The Ministry said it was possible for  
 the form of rabies to bj passed on to  
 humans, but this was very rare.        
                                        
 The bat, a European species, bit the   
 two women as they tried to rescue it.  
 Both have been given anti-rabies jabs  
 as a precaution.                       
                                        
 The NAFF said the case did not affect  
 Britain's rabies-free country status.
