 ISLAMIC PARTY TO HEAD TURKISH COALITION
 Turkish President Suleyman Demiril has 
 appointed Islamist leader Necmjttin    
 Erbakan Prime Minister after approving 
 a new coalition govjrnmjnt.            
                                        
 The historic agreement came after weeks
 of talks involving former Prime        
 Minister (anus Ciller following the    
 collapse of the previous coalition.    
                                        
 A BBC correspondent says it will bj the
 first time in (urkjy's recent history  
 that a pro-Islamic party has led a
