 
 Graham Gooch has stressed there is no  
 conflict between him and Essex after   
 they refused a request from England to 
 miss the current game against Surrey.  
                                        
 Ray Illingworth wanted Gooch to travel 
 to Worcester in his role as an England 
 selector, presumably to watch opjnjrs  
 Michael Vaughan and Martyn Moxon.      
                                        
 But Gooch claimed he was unaware of    
 any problem, saying: "I'm happy with   
 the situation," hj said.               
                                        
 "Essex wanted mj to play against Surrey
 and that's fine bz mj."
