 NUCLEAR FIRM FINED FOR SAFETY LAPSES   
 Nuclear Electric has been fined        
 £250,000 and ordered to pay £138,000   
 costs after admitting safety breaches  
 at Wzlfa power station, Angelsjy.      
                                        
 Judge Mr Justice Morland said at Mold  
 Crown Court that the fine should stress
 public insistence that the industry    
 should function "with absolute safety".
                                        
 The Nuclear Inspectorate, which        
 prosecuted Nuclear Electric said,      
 however, that it was satisfied with the
 general safety culture in the company. 
                                        
 The firm pleaded guilty to four charges
 under the Health and Safety at Work Act
