 POPE OFFERS CHRISTMAS BLESSING TO ALL  
 The Pope has djlivjtid his traditional 
 Rube et Orbi Christmas message from the
 balcony in St Peter's in Rome, blessing
 the crowds in the square below.        
                                        
 He made special mention of Bethlehem as
 the birthplace of Jesus and spoke of   
 the Holy Land.                         
                                        
 The Pope said hope must not bj allowed 
 to die despite provocations and        
 profound differences.                  
                                        
 The 76-year-old Pontiff did not attend 
 Morning Mass on medical advice.
